About Dr Cheong You Wei

Dr. Cheong graduated from  University of Malaya. Developed a keen interest in surgery, he underwent training in general surgery at University Malaya Medical Centre to become a general surgeon. Dr. Cheong subsequently underwent and completed full training in plastic surgery. He later went to the prestigious Chang Gung Memorial Hospitals in Taipei and Taoyuan Taiwan  to complete the Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery. Dr. Cheong was also a visitor to several renowned cosmetic surgery centers in Seoul, South Korea.

Dr. Cheong You Wei is a qualified plastic surgeon and is a registered plastic surgeon in the National Specialist Register of Malaysia under the Ministry of Health of Malaysia. He is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a member of the Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Craniofacial Surgeons (MAPACS) and the Malaysian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (MSPRS). Dr. Cheong was a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University Putra Malaysia. He published many research papers. He was also an author in a plastic surgery textbook (YW Cheong, RY Chen. Book Chapter In Tumors of Craniofacial Skeleton. Neligan P, ed. Plastic Surgery. Third edition. Elseviers). Dr. Cheong also contributed to many articles published in medical journals, magazines and newspapers and was invited multiple times as guest speaker in radio programs to talk on topics concerning plastic and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Cheong understands the importance of continuous learning and development in order to improve patients’ outcomes and results. He regularly participates in local and international plastic surgery conferences and workshops to update his knowledge and skills and share his experience with other plastic surgeons.

Over the years, Dr. Cheong has developed broad experience and skills, and he manages patients with a wide variety of plastic and cosmetic surgical conditions. Dr. Cheong always takes time to listen to patients and understand their concerns before offering helpful advice. He takes a warm and friendly approach, using his artistic eyes and gentle hands to help each patient achieve their goals while stressing beautiful, youthful, and natural-looking results. His patients comprise both local and international patients from ASEAN countries, China, Australia, India, UK, Europe, the Middle East, the US, Japan, Canada, and Africa.
