A pair of very large and heavy breasts can make the patient uncomfortable, self-conscious and suffers physical disabilities such as backache, neck and shoulder pain. Moisture may be trapped under the breasts causing skin irritation and infection. The condition also affects the patient’s routine daily activity and exercise.
Breast reduction is a surgery performed to reduce the size of the breast while maintain the aesthetics and functions of the breast. Breast reduction surgery removes excess fat, breast tissue and skin. Breast reduction shares some similarity with breast lift surgery in that the breasts are also lifted to a more youthful position besides reduction in size.
