Otoplasty is a procedure to improve the shape, position and proportion of the external ear. Some of the ear abnormalities are congenital and become more apparent as the child grows. Other deformities are caused by injury or acquired diseases. Common ear abnormalities include prominent ear, protruding ear, and ears with abnormal shape and size. Otoplasty is performed to restore a normal looking ear.
